Did you know that we recently welcomed a new Bookmobile? This full-service, tech-friendly mobile branch of our library will soon begin making community stops, bringing library resources (and lots of fun) to our community! Why should you visit our new Bookmobile this summer? Here are our top five reasons:
1. Get a library card
Did you know that you don’t have to come to the library building to get a library card? We can create one for you while you are on the Bookmobile. Read here to find out why your library card is the most important card in your wallet!
2. Check out popular materials
You’re welcome to come aboard the Bookmobile to browse and check out the most recent bestsellers, magazines, audiobooks, CDs, Playaways, video games and DVDs for children, teens and adults. Get recommendations from our friendly Outreach staff about the most popular books, movies and TV shows! History, science, true crime, romance, summer reads (and beyond)—the Bookmobile has it all!
3. Sign up for Summer Adventure
Summer Adventure is our annual, all-ages summer reading and activities challenge. If you don’t have a chance to come to the library, you can sign up and receive your Summer Adventure prizes on the Bookmobile!
4. Attend a fun community event
Join us for a variety of fun crafts, stories and games this summer! Our Bookmobile is set to visit community events, such as Cavalcade of Planes and The Village Picnic. Our popular Wednesdays at Winston Woods is back this summer every Wednesday from June 9 through July 21, 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at Winston Woods Park (200 Winston Drive). See below for more information about our our two special programs.
¡Super Stolie Guacamole! (in person)
Wednesday, June 9, 11 a.m. Winston Woods
Enjoy a high-energy musical show that incorporates Spanish language and Latin culture. Connect with the Spanish Speaking world through songs, stories and a family dance party. If we can’t meet in person, a virtual option will be available.
Miss Jamie from the Farm (in person)
Wednesday, July 7, 11 a.m. Winston Woods
Miss Jamie’s Farm music show is a high-energy, audience interactive musical play with farm animal puppets. Kids can sing along, dance and learn about farm animals and food. If we can’t meet in person, a virtual option will be available.
5. Return your library materials and pick up your holds on the Bookmobile
We provide scheduled stops around the community at convenient locations such as Target, IKEA and Best Buy. Get your shopping done at Target, and then come see us at the Bookmobile to learn all about what your library (and Bookmobile) has to offer! View our June 2021 community stops schedule.
