National Library Week (April 7–13, 2019)Food for Fines
April 7–13
Clear up fines on your account while doing a good deed! Visit the 1st Floor Circulation Desk, and we’ll remove $2 in fines (up to $20) per account for each unexpired, non-perishable food item you donate. All items will be donated to the DuPage Township Food Pantry. You can also return currently overdue or billed items to the 1st Floor Circulation Desk without accruing any new fines.

Please note: Collection agency fees, billed items that are not returned and billed Studio 300 equipment and eReaders do not qualify.

National Library Week (April 7–13, 2019)Free Paper Shredding
Saturday, April 6, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
Brooks Middle School Parking Lot (350 Blair Lane)
Bring your old personal papers to be shredded on site. Limit two office-size boxes per car. Residential shredding only; no commercial shredding. Shredding accepted until shred truck reaches capacity. Drop in; no registration required.

Wednesday, April 10, 3–5 p.m.
Visit our Bookmobile and Library Express Van in front of the library during our National Bookmobile Day Open House. Tour the vehicles, spin the wheel to win prizes and enjoy crafts, music, giveaways, pop-up storytimes and refreshments. Meet your school book talkers or storytellers and have your picture taken in front of the Bookmobile or Library Express Van! Drop in; no registration required.

Wednesday, April 10, 7 p.m.
Learn how PBS’ Genealogy Roadshow unraveled the mysteries around author Gail Lukasik’s family history and how her journey of discovery led her to write her bestselling book White Like Her. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for an informal author meet and greet. Book signing to follow; books will be available to purchase at event. Drop in; no registration required.
