Update as of October 30, 2020:
The ballot box in our lobby will close at 6 p.m. on Monday, November 2. The only ballot box that will accept ballot envelopes on Election Day is located outside the Will County Clerk’s Office (302 N. Chicago Street, Joliet). That ballot box will close promptly at 7 p.m., along with all polling places.
We are not an Election Day polling place. Find your Polling Place in Will County or DuPage County.
Beat the lines on Election Day by registering to vote, dropping off your mail-in ballot or taking advantage of in-person early voting at our library.

Dropping Off Mail-In Ballots
This year, Illinois has expanded voting by mail, which allows voters to request a vote-by-mail ballot online through the Will County Clerk. Ballots for the November 3, 2020 General Election will begin to be mailed around Thursday, September 24. After receiving and filling out your ballot, you may either mail it back or drop it off in one of the secure Will County ballot drop-off sites (including ours).
As one of the designated drop-off sites, we will have a locked ballot box placed in our lobby starting the week of September 21. The ballot box will be available for our community members to drop off their ballots through Monday, November 2 at 6 p.m. Patrons from neighboring DuPage County or Cook County should drop off ballots in locations directed by their election authorities.

Voter Registration
If you haven’t already registered to vote, we have a team of voting registrars available to assist you with this process during regular library hours. This service is available here through Tuesday, October 6, but residents can continue to register to vote at thewillcountyclerk.com after October 6. Registering to vote is free and open to U.S. Citizens who are/will be 18 years of age by Election Day and have been a resident of their precinct for at least 30 days prior to the election. Two forms of identification are required, one of which must show your current address. You do not need an appointment to register to vote. Please note, we cannot register persons to vote via Zoom or at the drive-thru window.
If you have questions about early voting or elections, please contact the Will County Clerk’s Office at 815.740.4615.
See you at the library!
