Did you know our library has a writers group? The Fountaindale Writers are a group of local writers ranging from professionals to novices. It is a community that helps each other with information and tips on how to continue the path of writing. Our members currently cover many genres, from poetry, fiction, nonfiction, novels, novellas, graphic novels, children’s books and more. The best part is that we can all come together for one night a month, share our progress, successes and struggles and find camaraderie in the process.
The group meets on the last Thursday of the month, from January to October, and hosts workshops to help you kick down the writer’s block or jump-start your writing journey. Being a part of a writing group has proven to be beneficial in the writing process as it provides a safe space to share your writing and get feedback. Getting feedback lets you see what elements are working and which need to be developed more.
Seeing other writers from different backgrounds and age groups also provides motivation and inspiration. So, if you have ever thought about writing or are already a writer and want to be a part of a group to socialize or share your work, make sure to come to the library and join the Fountaindale Writers.

Meet Author Lori Rader-Day as she leads a workshop that breaks down all the elements of what makes a good Mystery Story; there will be handouts, and it will get you ready to tackle your own mystery.
