FamilySearch is a nonprofit organization and website offering free genealogical records, education and software to researchers and family historians. Their website houses a digital collection of records and resources from countries all over the world. This year’s Genealogy Day lecture series is designed to assist researchers to use more than the basic search capabilities on the main page, to browsing the ever-expanding catalog of resources and using the collaborative tools on the site.

This year’s speaker schedule includes:

  • Searching Strategies: Basic and Beyond with Tina Beaird
  • Browse and Break Down Brick Walls: Using the FamilySearch Catalog Like a Pro with Jennifer Warner
  • FamilySearch WIKI & Memories: The Power Tools You’re Not Using! with Maureen Brady

In addition to the speakers, participants will enjoy door prizes, snacks, one-on-one expert consultations and time in our Studio 300 Maker Lab.

Our experts this year are Tina Beaird (military and general genealogy), Dan Jungclas (German genealogy) and Bruce Troyer (photographs). Suggested time with experts: 5–10 minutes.
