Any public school that resides within our district can designate a primary contact for their institutional library account. School principals or LMC directors need to provide a teacher listing to our Outreach Services Department at 630.685.4230 or outreach@fountaindale.org to issue library cards to teachers. Institutions are responsible for all lost and damaged library items borrowed by teachers. Borrowing privileges are valid for one year, August 1 – July 31.
Teachers may check out items for educational purposes and classroom use only. Materials are checked out for four weeks. Interlibrary Loan items and select equipment cannot be checked out on these accounts. For more information, see our Circulation Policy.
Owners or administrators of private schools and preschools located within our district may obtain a business card, valid for one year. The business owner or institution is responsible for the payment of any fees for lost or damaged items. The library reserves the right to associate the business library card with the owner’s personal library card, when applicable. If the personal card is not in good standing, the business library card will be blocked. Only one library card will be issued per business. For more information, see our Circulation Policy.
For questions, please contact Outreach Services at 630.685.4230 or outreach@fountaindale.org.

We want to partner with your school! Teachers may contact our Outreach Services staff to sign up for time slots to bring their classes on the Bookmobile or schedule monthly book talks. Our friendly staff can also participate in reading nights, multicultural fairs, STEM/STEAM events, guest reading events and other school events. In addition, at the beginning of each school year, we attend school registration days to sign up students for library cards to ensure they have their most important back-to-school tool. Contact us today to schedule us for your next event.
Every fall, we offer Read-A-Palooza and the Great Reading Race to Bolingbrook students in grades K–8. Learn more about each of these programs and how you can win prizes for your school!
We provide a variety of storytimes inside the library and at area preschools, daycare centers and community locations such as Panera Bread and the Bolingbrook Historic Museum. In addition to reading books, storytimes include interactive songs and activities that help promote early literacy. See our events calendar for this month’s storytime schedule.
Every year we host Preschool Round-Up, an open house for parents to meet and talk with representatives from various local preschools and daycare centers to help find the right fit for their children. The event includes prize drawings for children, teachers and parents, and several community organizations are also on hand to provide additional resources to attendees.
We offer monthly virtual events to supplement your homeschool curriculum. Adventures in Homeschooling: Far Away Places at Your Fingertips allows K–5 homeschool teachers and their students to discover geography, stories, music and crafts. Join us on the first Friday of the month. Registration required.
Teen and Tween Tech Homeschool Adventures give homeschool students in grades 6–12 the opportunity to explore hands-on technology topics. Our Outreach Services staff also offers an off-site storytime for homeschoolers. See our events calendar for dates and times.
